Living on the island surrounded by the sea, every day we witness the severity of plastic pollution. Washed ashore on our beautiful beaches are thousands of plastic bottles, plastic straws, plastic wrappings with writing in Japanese, Korean and Chinese, and other numerous pieces of microplastic. We ask all visitors to help us minimize the impact of plastic pollution by taking one simple but immensely meaningful step: bring your own water bottle! And we will be happy to fill it up for you for free at our tourist counter.
